Tattoo Removal Available in Plymouth

There are two methods of Tattoo Removal available at Oasa Rosa Aesthetics. They are Salt & Saline Removal and PhiRemoval.

Salt & Saline Removal 

The Salt & Saline Tattoo Removal process is a common dermatological way to lighten and often remove tattoos. It’s a slow process, but it’s one that many people use because it’s safer than other forms of tattoo removal. A salt & saline treatment is most successful when used in the removal of Semi-Permanent Pigments, however it can be used on Permanent Pigments too to lighten and in some cases, entirely remove a permanent tattoo.

The treatment begins by numbing the chosen area to be treated. Once numbing cream has been resting on the skin for 20 minutes, a digital machine is used to gently puncture the dermis of top layer of skin. The salt & saline solution is then implanted into the dermis in small, circular motions to gently exfoliate the pigment away, instead of depositing the ink into the skin like a laser does. A secondary anaesthetic is then applied and the process repeated.

To complete the treatment the solution will be mixed into a paste and left to sit on the treated area for 5-10 minutes to soak into the pigment. Depending on the area to have been treated a loose sterile gauze or a large plaster will be placed over the treated area to protect it whilst healing commences. This should be changed at least once a day for five to seven days. The area needs to be kept clean yet dry from ointment and moisture to enable a scab to form which in turn pulls pigment out with it. It is extremely important not to pick or aggravate this scab during the healing process so as not to cause scarring.

How Long is the initial treatment?

The initial treatment will heal in about six to eight weeks. Once complete healing has been achieved, another treatment can be applied to the same tattoo. Lightening results should be achieved within three to four procedures, and if desired, the area can be tattooed again after the skin heals.

There are many benefits to salt & saline solution treatments. The most obvious benefit is that that tattoo will become lighter or possibly fade away after some time. Additional benefits include:

• The lightening process has less risks than laser treatments and other forms of treatment.
• It won’t cause scarring, blistering or hypo or hyper pigmentation.
• The treatment is safe for all skin types.
• Skin can be re-tattooed once the treated area has healed completely.
• Most of the benefits of salabrasion over its competitors are obvious as well. Other forms of tattoo lightening and removal include, laser removal treatments, dermabrasion, chemical peels, and cryosurgery. All of these competitors are more expensive and more painful than salt & saline solutions. 

Salabrasion or Salt & Saline solutions work well to lighten tattoos, but they may not be the best treatment for permanent removal. However, there is a chance that saline-treated tattoos may fade away completely after sometime because of the ongoing exfoliating process. On the other hand, if tattoo removal is the ultimate goal, then laser treatments or some other form of treatment may be the best option.

PhiRemoval

The PhiRemoval method is a revolutionary new removal treatment which can remove unwanted Semi-Permanent Make-Up as well as Permanent Tattoos.

Unique serum formulations are applied to the removal area to gently and effectively lift pigment from the skin. As the body continues to heal the area, the tattoo lightens and pigment continues to be drawn out of the skin, unlike laser which simply re-deposits pigment elsewhere within the body’s lymphatic system. This process tends to take a few sessions depending on size, depth and location of the pigment.
