Classic Lashes
Classic lashes are one extension applied to one individual natural lash using a ratio of One to One depending on the amount of natural lashes you have. If you have a lot of natural lashes then the one to one ratio will be a lot more. For example, if you have only 50 natural lashes then the set of classic lashes will only be as good as the 50 individual lashes applied.
Classic lashes are perfect for you if you have a good healthy amount of lashes, with few gaps in the lash line. We always recommend Classic Lashes if the desired look is a natural effect.
Ellipse lashes are very similar to classic Lashes, they are applied in the same way with the same lash to extension ratio. Ellipse lashes are perfect for you if you have finer Lashes, or want a fuller look without the extra added weight. The bottom of these lashes are cut out to create a flat bottom of the lash which creates the look of a thicker and fuller lash extension look.
Russian Volume Lashes
Russian volume lashes are slightly different and can be more complex to apply than a classic lash look. The ratio of extensions to natural lashes can vary, and is described as a lightweight volume or heavyweight volume set.
Lash extensions come in different weight sets. Lightweight would be considered a 3D/4D set then heavy weight would be considered a 5D/6D set. The Russian volume lashes can go up to as much as 12D, with the right amount of training and practice. Although this may also be described as Royal volume, but we’ll save that for another article!
3D would count as 3 extensions per each natural lash, a ratio of Three to One. Russian volume is highly recommended if you are looking to create a full and extravagant look. It is also perfect for those of you who have sparse natural lashes, where extra coverage is wanted or even needed.
To create the volume look, the lashes are hand made into lash fans and bonded together with the adhesive when being applied to the natural lashes.
It is easy for people to get confused between these fans and cluster lashes. Cluster lashes and prepared fans and are not the same as volume lashes and do not create the same effect or look.
So to summarise…
If you’re looking for a thicker but natural, then we recommend one of our Classic Lash Extensions.
If you are looking to create volume and thickness, we recommend the Russian Volume Lash Extensions.
We currently offer Classic lashes, Ellipse lashes and Ombré lashes and will be offering Russian Volume Lashes.
